Richard was born in Hoopa CA on July 29th, 1961 to Albert Carpenter Sr. And Suzanne Little. He entered into rest at Enloe Medical Center in Chico, CA on October 20, 2021 with loved ones by his side.
Richard was a member of the Hupa Tribe. He loved to carve acorn spoons, paddles and other culture items and hang out downtown with his friends visiting.
He is survived by his children; Christina Matilton, Damera Carpenter, Kandi Carpenter (Colin Clark), Kevin Norton (Lesley), Sausha Carpenter-Perry (Cody) & Amos Carpenter. Grandchildren; Ryan Moon & K’idiwisch’e “Boo-Boo” Donahue, Daeja Smith, Aniya & Xavier Carpenter, Kailani Carpenter, Ayla Cox, Lailan & Russell Clark, Blaine, Arianna, Christian, Waylon & Lenora Norton, Olivia Artz, Benson Carpenter & Lealand Perry, Amos II & Carma Carpenter. His Siblings; Susie (Glenn) Sanchez, Debra (Ron) Webster, Tonea (Alden) Yazzie, Antone (Mary Jane) Aubrey III, sisters-in-law Shelly Carpenter and Sylvia Carpenter. He had numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Richard was proceeded in death by his Grandparents Charlie and Pauline Beach and Amos and Audrey Little, his Parents Albert Carpenter Sr. and Suzanne Little, his brothers Albert “Scal” Carpenter Jr., Raymond “Chuckie” Carpenter and Duane “Grumpy” Carpenter.

A viewing will be held at Paul’s Chapel in Arcata, CA on Wednesday October 27th, 2021 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Services will be graveside at the Hoopa Cemetery Thursday October 28th, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. Reception immediately following at the Hoopa Fire Hall.
