Raymond Charles Carpenter

Chuckie was born in Hoopa, CA on April 16th, 1960 to Albert Carpenter Sr. and Suzanne Little. He entered into rest at his home in Hoopa on May 20, 2021.

He was a deeply loved Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great Grandfather, to his wife & soulmate Shelly Carpenter, his children Lila, Amee, Kim & Sarah Carpenter, his grand Children Andrew, Lilly Mae, Eric, Aysa, Ameera and Elias, his great grandson Anthony. All of who he loved very deeply.

Chuckie was a leader, his culture was his life and there was always a lesson to be learned in his words if you really opened your heart and mind and listened.

He had many friends who became brothers and sisters to him. It didn’t matter where he went he gathered more. He loved people. He also had many mothers, I would always hear them say “Chuckie is my boy, I helped raise him”. Even though our hearts are broken I know we will see him again Xa’gya’ne’

Chuckie is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren & great grandson. His sisters Susie (Glenn) Sanchez, Debbie (Ron) Webster, Tonea (Alden) Yazzie, his brothers Richard Carpenter, Antone “Bruz” (Mary Jane) Aubrey III and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Chuckie was preceded in death by his grandparents Charlie and Pauline Beach, Amos and Audrey Little, his parents Albert Carpenter Sr. and Suzanne Little, his brothers Albert “Scal” Carpenter Jr. and Duane “Grumpy” Carpenter.

A Viewing will be held at Paul’s Chapel in Arcata, CA on Tuesday May 25th, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services will be graveside at the Hoopa Cemetery Wednesday May 26th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. You are welcome to come visit and eat with the family immediately following the services at Pookey’s Park in Hoopa.

Friends and Family not listed please know you are not forgotten. Everyone who held a place in Chuckie’s heart also holds a place in ours.
