Bob had an innate sense of history and owned a 1948 Packard in its original condition while a teenager. He was an avid collector of antiques of many different types and often drove his 1929 Model A Sedan in Blue Lake's Annie & Mary Day parade. He had a penchant for tokens, especially old ones from bars and saloons around Humboldt County. He was a long-time volunteer for the Blue Lake Museum and found all aspects of the city's history to be very interesting. For nearly 37 years, Bob was an active member of the Blue Lake Volunteer Fire Department and served as its assistant Fire Chief for many years. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Josephine Giroux, brother, David Giroux, and sister, Yvonne Fairchild.
