Jose Silveira

Mr. Silveira passed away on March 1, 2018 at the age of 81 at Community Hospital in Arcata, CA. After a brief illness. Husband to the late Teresa Furtado Silveira of 54 years. Born in 1937 in PontŠ da Faj… Grande, Ilhas Das Flores, A‡ores. He was the son of the late João Freitas Silveira and Maria CŠu Silveira. Brother of the late JosŠ S. Silveira of Eureka, CA. and the late Maria Das Neves DeFreitas of New Bedford, MA. Survived by sister Maria Victoria Freitas of Simcoe, Canada. Several In-Laws, Nieces and Nephews.

Mr. Silveira came to the U.S. in 1966 and lived in Arcata and McKinleyville CA. All his life. He worked in the lumber industry in various mills, GP.,and Simpson Timber Co. for more than 30 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, fishing and cherished anything that brought him together with family and friends.

Services will be provided by Paul's Chapel in Arcata, CA. With services held at St. Mary's Church in Arcata, CA. on Thursday March 8, 2018 at 10am. Rosary prayer and funeral mass to follow.
