Gwendolyn Van Pelt

Gwen Van Pelt, 77 years old of Hoopa, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 17 in Sacramento as a result of a tragic auto accident on Oct. 6.

A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct 24 in Arcata at Paul’s Chapel on H Street from 1 to 8 p.m. for family and friends to come and go as desired.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, Oct. 27 in Hoopa at the Neighborhood Facilities at 11 a.m. The family and friends will provide lunch and join together in remembering Gwen’s life that touched so many in her humble way over the years.

Internment will be Monday, Oct. 29 in Eureka at the Sunset Cemetery on Broadway at 2 p.m., where she will be placed with her husband, Duane Sr., who passed away in 1969.

Please accept a heartfelt thank you to everyone who prayed and supported our family and friends during this difficult time in our lives. Gwen will be greatly missed by her many family and friends.
